SPBHS has moved to telehealth visits to help protect the clients, our staff, and the community.

A telehealth visit may take place over the phone or via our videoconferencing service StarLeaf.

To Schedule a Visit call 235-7701 between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

Prior to your visit, please let us know if you have:

  1. A quiet, private place to meet with our staff
  2. A device that can provide video and audio
  3. A working internet connection
  4. A current email address
  5. Or, a working telephone connection

For a Videoconference: When it is time for your visit, you will receive a link to our system for the video conference. Follow the directions in that link to start your visit and a staff member will be available to assist setting up your initial appointment.

For a telephone visit: You will receive a phone call at the scheduled time at the phone number you have given us for the visit.


• We provide help, treatment, and support to individuals and families struggling with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities in partnership with the State of Alaska.
• We provide Psychiatric Emergency Services for the Southern Peninsula in partnership with South Peninsula Hospital, the Homer PD, the Alaska State Troopers, and the Homer area EMTs.
• We provide support and services for families and individuals in partnership with the Kenai Peninsula Housing Initiative.
• We provide opportunity and development for our athletes to participate and compete in partnership with Special Olympics.
• We provide support for students and families before, during and after school in partnership with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.
• We provide access to competitive employment opportunities and vocational skills development in partnership with local businesses.
• We share staff across multiple settings in partnership with South Peninsula Hospital.
• We work with many insurers including Aetna, Medicaid, Premera/Blue Cross, Medicare, the VA, Denali Kid Care, and multiple third party insurers. We offer a sliding scale for those that qualify.
• We work with Haven House, Kachemak Bay Family Planning, Sprout, Independent Living Center, SVT and multiple other local agencies to ensure those in our community that need support get it.

South Peninsula Behavioral Health Services may be known by the names of some of our programs like PRIDE, Journeys, The Center, Maintree, STEPS, Brookside, Parenting with Love and Limits (PLL), The Annex, Individual Placement Support (IPS), Souply or even Community Mental Health.
